In an age where knowledge is condensed into sleek videos, short summaries and AI-generated answers, it has never been easier to feel like you are learning mathematics without actually developing the intellectual strength that real mathematical understanding requires.
There is a familiar phrase in physical training: no pain, no gain. In intellectual training, the same idea applies. A person who watches bodybuilding online tutorials is not building muscle. A person who watches “Topology in 5 Minutes” is not building mathematical muscle either.
Likewise, AI tools are incredibly useful for exploration, intuition and explanation. But using AI to do your assignments or complete mathematical exercises for you is the intellectual equivalent of walking into the gym, lying under a barbell and letting a robot lift it for you. Technically, the weight moved, but your muscles did not grow!
Mathematics is embodied in the mind. You “feel” it when it clicks. You “see” structures others overlook. You make connections that lead to deeper insights. These transformations happen only when you wrestle with the material.
If you want to start building your mathematical stamina, our 𝗔𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝟭𝟬𝟭 and 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝟯𝟲𝟬 cohorts will start their journey next week. You can still join them if you sign up by next 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆.
