Hey Quantum Enthusiasts,
Have you ever pursued an idea that you found fun or thought-provoking, but that for one reason or another, never blossomed into a fully formed, publishable project? Perhaps your idea was too small to spin out into a major project, lacked generalisability, or was simply impractical – but is nonetheless still fascinating! This seminar aims to be a haven for those very ideas.
Led by Max Arnott and with the participation of Bambordé Baldé, the Research Detours online webinar series celebrates unconventional sparks of curiosity. It is a place to present ideas that you think are neat but never imagined would see the light of day. Whatever the reason, our new seminar series welcomes these "research detours" with open arms.
Even though your idea might seem dead in the water, we believe there's value in sharing it. Being mathematically minded, we see beauty in ideas regardless of their practicality. We also believe that sharing our “almost-successes” to a passionate audience can inspire confidence, creativity, and perhaps even solutions.
We're seeking 4-5 researchers per session to present their unconventional ideas during 10–15-minute slots. If you're a researcher with an idea that you think fits the brief, we encourage you to submit your proposal.

Wish you good luck!
