Hello Quantum Formalists,
We won’t have a lecture this Friday! However, our friend and community member Bob Miller is giving a talk entitled ‘Group Theory and Origami Modular Design’. I encouraged to register via https://www.crowdcast.io/c/group-theory-and-origami-modular-design. You’ll learn how some of the group theoretic notions that we covered in our group theory crash course such as orbits and stabilisers are applied!
Representation Theory for Geometric Quantum Machine Learning
As we wrap up the current group theory crash course and approach the start of the Lie Groups & Representations course, you want to check this recently released paper on Geometric Quantum Machine Learning https://arxiv.org/abs/2210.07980. It’s an excellent motivation for those interested in this emerging field to take our upcoming Lie Groups & Representations course! There is also a nice Twitter thread about the paper here.
Measure Theory & Functional Analysis Course
The first five lectures are on YouTube (link to the playlist below)! The first lecture is a review of real analysis & Riemann's integration theory. The second lecture is an introduction to sigma algebras. The third lecture is an introduction to measures.
The fourth lecture covers special types of measures called ‘outer measures’, and the fifth lecture is an introduction to ‘Borel Measures’.
