Hello Quantum Formalists,
It has been a pleasure to be with you on this almost year-long journey through the abstract group theory & representations crash course (playlist here). This completes the second and last prerequisite for the upcoming Lie Groups & Representations course. The first prerequisite was the crash course on Topology & Differential Geometry (playlist here) completed at the end of 2021.
What next after this crash course? Well, the next steps are as follows:
Certificate of completion: I have issued a certificate of completion to the regular attendees of the live sessions, whom I'm confident have the baseline knowledge required to attend the next course. The baseline knowledge required is from lecture 17 (Matrix Groups) to lecture 20 (Group Representations). So for those following the lectures via YouTube, if you meet this criterion, I am happy to issue you a certificate of completion! Just fill out the following Google form https://forms.gle/oHhq7LewkyFWy2FF7, and I'll follow up.
Lie Groups & Representations: The start date will be announced sometime in January 2023. Although highly recommended, you are not required to complete the group theory & representations crash course nor the topology & differential geometry course to join. However, you will most likely only be able to follow if you have the baseline knowledge mentioned above plus a baseline knowledge of smooth manifolds!
QF Applications Virtual School: After the course on Lie Groups & Representations, we'll have a 1 - 2 weeks virtual mini school focusing on the application side. The topics covered will include quantum error correction, classical machine learning and quantum machine learning.
I also encourage you to join our Discord server . Community members use the server to interact with each other about the courses and set up study groups.
Finally, I hope you find our free courses helpful, and please let others know about quantumformalism.com and follow our LinkedIn page for updates.
I wish you a lovely festive session!
