Hello quantum enthusiasts,
The final session for the foundation module is now available on YouTube (link at the bottom)!
It has been an honour to be on this four months virtual learning journey with you all. I hope you've found it useful to be exposed to some abstract mathematical structures such as groups underpinning quantum mechanics. Most importantly, the interplay between these structures.
What next? Well, firstly I think we all deserve a few months break before the start of the next module! :) However, we'll still carry on with the fireside chats with guests from the industry and academia.
Special thanks: I would like to thank Soham Pal for his invaluable help during this module. His constant help on the live chat and discussion forum has made this virtual learning experience better than I could ever have imagined!
Module certification: I've had plenty of emails regarding certification of completion for this module. As I mentioned a few times, the requirement for receiving a certificate is to submit some work related to mathematics:
It can be either individual submission or group submission (recommended).
The submission can be theoretical or practical such as contribution to an open-source project.
Career opportunity at Zaiku Group: The stuff covered in the foundation module is more or less the baseline (minimum) mathematics that we require for entry-level technical roles within our 'Applied Commercial R&D' division. Areas with entry-level openings currently include; Computational Algebraic Topology, Homomorphic Encryption and Quantum Algorithms (for the NISQ era).
Those who submit work for certification will be considered for fast-track application. We may require security clearance in some specific projects that involve collaboration(s) with sensitive UK gov organisation(s).
With this, I wish you a very happy weekend!
