Hello quantum formalists,
I couldn’t resist not sharing Feynman's talk below that highlights (with humour) the cultural differences between mathematics and physics. One of my favourite parts is when he said the following:
Mathematicians can do what they want to do, one should not criticise them because they are not slaves to physics. It is not necessary that just because this is useful to you they have to do it that way. They can do what they will, it's their job, and if you want something else then you work it out yourself.
Amazingly, he invented a heuristic technique now known as 'Feynman Path Integral' that had no mathematical rigour and yet produced results!
See you this coming Friday at 5 pm BST!
