Announcing the QF Academy
Your Pathway to a Career in Quantum Computing and Emerging Technologies.
Dear QF Community,
We founded the Quantum Formalism (QF) Community with a strong conviction that mathematics plays a profound and essential role in quantum computing and other emerging technologies. Over time, we've observed an inspiring trend: community members from non-traditional backgrounds i.e. those without PhDs in quantum information science—who dedicated themselves to embracing mathematics through our programs such as the QF Mathematical Mentorship, QF Hackathons, and QF Microgrants have successfully landed career opportunities in both academia and industry.
In the coming weeks and months, we'll be inviting some of these members to share their experiences and journeys with you.
This success story made us wonder: How can we enable more dedicated QF community members to unlock new career opportunities in quantum computing and other cutting-edge fields?
Well, I’m pleased to announce the launch of our new career-focused educational program centred around mathematics, the Quantum Formalism Academy. This program will be delivered through our soon-to-launch online Learning Management System (LMS), featuring courses divided into two main categories:
Foundational Courses: These intermediate level courses rigorously teach relevant mathematics tailored to specific career opportunities in quantum computing and other emerging technologies such as AI, Advanced Cryptography (e.g. Fully Homomorphic Encryption). They're designed to equip you with the essential mathematics-driven skills needed to land entry-level positions in leading companies.
Specialisation Courses: Aimed at seasoned professionals, these advanced courses cover the mathematical techniques that can propel your career to the next level. We are starting the ‘Advanced Linear Algebra for ML’ course later this month, you can still enroll via the link https://quantumformalism.com/advanced-linear-algebra-for-ml.
Upon successfully completing any of these courses, you'll receive a free, hands-on final project support to connect you with job opportunities within our parent company, Zaiku Group, and other partner companies across the UK, Europe (Germany & France), and the US. Unlike mainstream generalist online platforms such as Coursera or Udemy, we're not offering certificates just for display on LinkedIn. Our focus is on tangible career outcomes i.e. advancing your career through proven mathematical proficiency gained from our courses. Also, we are not interested in quantity, but rather on quality of the people coming out of the program.
Enrollment Fees: To help cover the costs required to run these programs, we are starting with a nominal fee ranging from USD $180 to USD $360 depending on individual circumstances. We offer flexible payment options, including installments, and you can cancel anytime if your situation changes or you're no longer interested. Our fees are intentionally lower than many other alternative courses available online, and we expect to offer a more tangible hands-on career outcomes support.
Quality Over Quantity: We believe in nurturing talent and providing personalised attention to each participant. So we're highly committed to quality over quantity, focusing on developing professionals who can demonstrate true expertise and mathematical proficiency.
Free Access: QF community members who have been exceptionally helpful to other members in our past and ongoing courses will be offered free access. We've already identified these outstanding contributors and will be sending them invitations to join.
Scholarships: For new members or those who haven't yet earned automatic free access, scholarships are available. However, these aren't "free lunch" scholarships; recipients are expected to give back to the QF community. This could involve contributing to a QF-sponsored open-source project or providing tutorials on relevant topics where you have expertise.
Ideal Minimum Prerequisites for the QF Academy: If you are interested in Quantum Computing, introductory courses in quantum computing such as IBM’s John Watrous course is a good start (link here). At QF Academy, you will then be taken into a more rigorous and advanced mathematical journey with emphasis on actual frontier research topics such as quantum machine learning.
For the rest, a basic university-level (undergraduate) courses in linear algebra and calculus will be great to have.
Priority Access (Expression of Interest): If you're eager to be among the first to join the Quantum Formalism Academy, we invite you to fill out our expression of interest form https://forms.gle/BnHUVzzAyAQZLuhE6. Those who are already signed up for our ‘Advanced Linear Algebra for ML’ course are automatically enrolled, so no need to fill out this form.
After submitting the form, you'll have the opportunity to schedule a one-on-one call with me to learn more about the program and determine whether the QF Academy is the right fit for your career goals.
We're looking forward to working with you to help you advance your career in quantum computing and emerging technologies. We’re 100% committed to your success, ensuring you gain the mathematical proficiency that leads to tangible career opportunities.
Many thanks,
Bambordé
